Business Fined Tk 20,000 for Encroaching on Footpath at New Bridge

The Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has fined a business Tk 20,000 for occupying a footpath with drums in the New Bridge area of the city.
The drive was conducted on Tuesday (October 13) beside Mir Petrol Pump on Shah Amanat Bridge Road. CCC Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarbavidya led the operation.
According to the CCC mobile court, the placement of drums on the footpath had obstructed pedestrian movement. The authorities filed a case against the owner of the business and collected a fine of Tk 20,000.
The removal of the drums from the footpath began during the drive. The business owner was also instructed to remove all the drums by Tuesday and restore the footpath for pedestrian use.
