Actress Tania Brishty Returns to Shooting After Battling Brain Tumour Despite a Doctor’s Grim 4–5-Year Life Expectancy Prediction
Television actress Tania Brishty has returned to acting after enduring nearly 10 months of serious health complications, including a brain tumour, multiple surgeries, radiotherapy and life support.
During her treatment in Chennai, India, a doctor reportedly told her that she might have only four and a half to five years to live. However, after facing numerous challenges, the actress is gradually recovering and has returned to the shooting floor.
In a recent interview, Tania spoke about her illness, medical treatment and emotional journey back to acting.
She said her physical condition has improved significantly. After nearly 10 months, she can once again eat normally, do light exercise and spend happy moments with her family.
However, following surgery, she experienced complications on the right side of her head, along with dizziness, vomiting and physical weakness. After completing the difficult phase of radiotherapy, she is gradually returning to normal life.
Tania has made her acting comeback through the television drama Angshidar, directed by Iksan Roni. She plays a character named Sumi in the production.
Although doctors initially advised her against returning to work because of her health condition, she requested permission to participate in a drama shoot to improve her mental well-being.
She still has two months of chemotherapy remaining. Once the treatment is completed, doctors will conduct MRI and CT scans to reassess the condition of the tumour.
Her health problems began in December last year when she suddenly developed a severe headache during a drama shoot. She continued working despite the pain for four consecutive days. On the fifth day, she started vomiting and was taken to hospital. Medical examinations the following day revealed a brain tumour.
During treatment at MGM Hospital in Chennai, an oncologist reportedly gave her a worrying prediction about her life expectancy.
Before her first surgery, Tania spoke to family members and colleagues as though she were saying goodbye. Her condition deteriorated during the second surgery, and she had to be placed on life support.
Throughout this difficult period, her mother’s care, family support and encouragement from colleagues helped her remain mentally strong.
Actors Mosharraf Karim and Niloy, along with producer Ali Bashir and several others from the entertainment industry, regularly checked on her.
Tania has also moved past social media rumours about her death that circulated during her illness. She now hopes to rebuild her acting career with renewed enthusiasm.
Addressing people suffering from serious illnesses, she advised them not to lose hope simply because of a disease diagnosis. She emphasised the importance of mental strength, following medical advice, maintaining proper nutrition and spending positive time with family.
Although she is still undergoing treatment, Tania considers her return to the shooting floor a new chapter in her life.
