Pakistan Launches Fresh Strikes Along Afghan Border, Casualties Reported

Pakistan’s military has launched fresh attacks targeting several military posts and installations of Afghan Taliban fighters along the Afghanistan border.

The strikes were carried out on Friday (October 30) from areas in South Waziristan and Parachinar in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to a Pakistani military source, Afghan forces opened fire in the Angoor Adda area last Wednesday without provocation. In response, Pakistani troops launched attacks targeting Afghan military positions and installations on Friday.

The Pakistani military source claimed that Afghan soldiers abandoned their positions during the attacks. Several Afghan soldiers were reportedly killed or injured. However, no specific casualty figures have been confirmed.

Earlier on Wednesday, one person was killed and several members of the same family were injured in an alleged attack by Afghan forces in the Angoor Adda area, according to Pakistani authorities. Pakistan launched a retaliatory strike on the same day.

The Deputy Commissioner of South Waziristan said Afghan forces had opened fire in the Angoor Adda market without provocation on Wednesday, resulting in casualties.

Meanwhile, tensions have been mounting along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border over the past several days. The exchange of attacks has now escalated into deadly clashes, raising concerns about further deterioration of the security situation along the border.
