Haji Sona Mia Road Closed for Over a Month, Locals Face Severe Hardship
Haji Sona Mia Road in Ward No. 5 of South Madarsha Union under Hathazari Upazila in Chattogram has remained closed for more than a month, causing severe hardship for local residents. With vehicles unable to use the road, daily travel and other essential activities have become increasingly difficult.
According to residents, the road’s poor condition has made it impossible for vehicles to pass. The prolonged disruption has affected normal communication in the area, prompting locals to demand urgent repairs and the restoration of regular traffic.
Residents have expressed growing frustration and concern that the road has not been reopened despite more than a month passing. They questioned why effective measures had not been taken to repair the road and ease public suffering.
In this situation, residents have called for urgent intervention from Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, Member of Parliament for Hathazari and State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs. They have also urged the Hathazari Upazila administration and other relevant authorities to take immediate action.
Residents hope that the state minister’s intervention and effective administrative measures will lead to the road’s prompt repair and restore vehicle movement, bringing an end to their prolonged hardship.
